Its core gameplay elements are deckbuilding, worker placement and area control. Each player leads one of eight powers – Austria, Bohemia, Brandenburg, Burgundy, Holland, Milan, the Palatinate of the Rhine, or Saxony – and competes to become the dominant force at the heart of Europe.
